About the role of Relief Group Leader
This role is working with the Learning and Community Engagement team to deliver our school workshop programme. The school workshop programme is delivered at sites based in Warwick, all in walking distance of each other and occasionally in partnership with Warwickshire Country Parks at Kingsbury Water Park. Group Leaders also deliver our schools outreach workshops in schools across Warwickshire, Coventry and occasionally into areas of Solihull and Birmingham. Your base of work would be St Johns House, Warwick, where we have our own car park.
Group Leaders are dynamic people, comfortable leading from the front and holding the attention of a group of people. Our workshops are engaging, encouraging inquiring minds and questioning from the children. There are no worksheets in our workshops.
Details of our existing school workshop programme can be seen on our webpages at

At our onsite workshops the Group Leader team is supported by our Relief Support Assistant team. They facilitate school visits, meeting and greeting schools and ensuring lunch facilities are ready. They also have a role to play in our workshops through-out the day. Team working is an essential part of the Group Leader role to ensure workshops run smoothly.
Our outreach workshops are delivered by one Group Leader in a classroom. All resources for outreach workshops are designed to be easily transportable. Adaptability and self motivation is part of being a successful Group Leader, this is key in outreach workshops.
New team members will train on how to deliver workshops over several observations and will be supported in delivering their first workshops. Group Leaders are not expected to learn how to deliver every workshop we offer but we are specifically interested in candidates who can deliver outreach workshops.
The post is offered as a casual contract as the availability of work is dependent upon school groups making bookings for workshops. The salary includes a 12.5% increment for holiday and sickness.
Work is primarily available during term times due to the nature of the role. There will also be the opportunity to work with the Lace Officers on development of the school programme when this work is being undertaken.
