Job Details
Following on from a service re-design and the creation of new posts, we have an exciting opportunity to recruit to 2 new Senior Trading Standard Officers posts within the Citizen and Consumer Protection Business and Consumer Team which includes Environmental Health, Trading Standards and General Licensing.
It's an exciting time to join Sandwell Council’s Trading Standards Team. Our service re-design is part of a forward-thinking review of our services to ensure that we are a team fit for the future.
About you
- We are looking for a qualified Senior Trading Standards Officer competent in Weights and Measures or Food Standards.
- Working alongside our established seniors you will help shape the direction of our team, use your specialist knowledge and experience to lead on projects and to provide support to officers and assist the Team Managers with leading on the different disciplines.
- You will need to have a minimum of 3 years' experience within the specialist area and be open to new challenges, have excellent communication skills, be professional and an exemplar for Sandwell MBC and the Trading Standards profession.
Education
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a subject relative to either Environmental Health or Trading Standards. For Trading Standards to be competent in Weights and Measures or Food Standards.
The Team
The team is a busy, friendly, and professional team covering Age Restricted Products, Fair Trading, Food Standards, Intellectual Property, Product Safety and Weights and Measures. We operate a hybrid working system which allows for a mix of remote and office-based working.
We are also keen to provide our officers with opportunities for further development and we support officers with further training and ensuring they can meet Continuous Professional Development.
