We are currently recruiting for a Clerk of the Works to ensure our new homes are built to the highest standards. This is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of a growing Development Team that is driving an ambitious New Build Programme involving modern methods of construction as well as more traditional methods. If you have the right experience and are a self-starter with a positive attitude who likes a challenge, we would like to hear from you. 

 

As a Housing Safety & Compliance Officer you will work with the Senior Housing Safety & Compliance officer to ensure that the Council fulfils its statutory duties in relation to the safety of our tenants. This will include:

 

  • Identifying and resolving gaps in the Council’s compliance with relevant consumer standards.
  • Assisting in collating data and preparing reports for the Regulator of Social Housing and KPIs.
  • Implementing, coordinating and carrying out regular audits of Council processes and procedures.
  • Taking the lead in managing the resolution of actions arising from inspections.
  • Working with the team to develop ‘golden thread’ information and manage records accordingly.

 

We are looking for people who have experience working within a building safety environment

You will ideally have a good knowledge of the housing consumer standards.

You will need to be comfortable working as part of a team and using your own initiative whilst having a keen eye for attention to detail.

This is a fast paced environment and the ability to balance competing priorities is essential.

We are a friendly and welcoming team and can offer flexible working hours, including the ability to work from home.

 

You must have the following experience:

  • Experience of undertaking compliance related tasks such as data management.
  • Experience of communicating with people at various levels
  • Knowledge of, and ability to interpret current health and safety legislation and housing consumer standards.

You must have (or be willing to work towards) the following qualifications:

  • NEBOSH General certificate
  • Level 4 certificate in housing
