Exhall Grange is a 4-19 maintained school which provides a nurturing environment
and meets the needs of children and young people with:
• Social, Communication and Interaction difficulties including Autism
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs • Physical difficulties
• Sensory impairment • Complex medical needs
Many of our children and young people are physically or emotionally extremely vulnerable or have life limiting conditions. Some of our pupils are highly anxious and require our calm, predictable and nurturing environment in order to access school.

All pupils follow the National Curriculum at a level appropriate to their ability and needs. We are destination driven and focus on developing the skills our pupils need for independence, employment and life.

We are seeking to appoint a TA3 Level Learning Support Mentor to work with a diverse cohort of pupils across our school community. This means that you could be working with any age group within the school from Early Years Foundation Stage to Post 16.
We expect candidates to have at least (please see full details in Job Description):-
• A passion for supporting pupils to learn to the best of their ability.
• A recognised and relevant NVQ level 3 qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, experience and skills.
• At least GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Grace A-C.
• A good knowledge and understanding of SEND and areas of the curriculum.
• Experience of working with children of the relevant age and managing situations relating to challenging behaviour
• Experience of accessing pupils’ needs and barriers to learning
• Experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour including one-to-one, small group and whole class activities
• Experience of working with staff on suitable interventions
• Experience of working closely with families/carers
• Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and participating in meetings
• Strong listening skills and proven ability to deal with sensitive situations with integrity

The salary range for this position is £ 30,060 - £ 32,654 full time equivalent which equates to £ 22,711 - £24,670 per annum actual salary for 32.5 hours per week working term time plus 5 training days.
The working day is 08.50 – 15.40 Monday to Wednesday and Friday and 08.50 – 16.40 on Thursdays.
