Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and highly valued Community Educational and Child Psychology team that is expanding and evolving to meet the demands and needs of a diverse population.

We provide a working environment that promotes good working relationships and the strength of team support.

You will work a school patch system in a multi-professional team, as well as contributing to Early Years, Out of Borough, Post 16 and other work.

Our Statutory work is integrated within our Graduated Response to SEND, meaning that you will usually be undertaking statutory assessment work for children and young people who are already known to you. You will also have support from an Assistant Educational Psychologist who will help you to manage the demands of your work flow, in ways that you find most helpful to you.

Why Sandwell?

In Sandwell every day is different where the work involves a variation of activities including consultation, assessment, training, research and work with Early Years children right up to Post 16 young people. Educational and Child Psychologists have the freedom and flexibility to choose the approaches that they use in their work and there are regular opportunities to share good practice.

The ECP team have a supportive ethos and a solid team identity that is grounded in the values of Community Psychology, with a strong emphasis on person-centred approaches and anti-oppressive practice. We are a sociable, motivated and highly supportive team. You will have a laptop and mobile phone, which will enable you to work efficiently, flexibly and agilely to meet your needs.

Sandwell is an exciting and continuously developing service where Continuing Professional Development is highly valued. Consequently, all ECPs are encouraged to further develop their professional interests in order to enhance the progression of the service and ultimately the opportunities for the children and young people of Sandwell.
