Following on from the Speech and Language Centre's successful Pilot Outreach programme , a new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist SLCN Outreach Teacher to extend the programme to mainstream primary and early years settings

Hours: 22.5 (0.6) per week. Term Time only.

Salary: TPS £22,023 to £37,496 + TLR2a £2,587 + SEN Allowance £4,034 (pro rata)

Location: Speech & Language Centre based at Quarry Bank Primary School

The role will be working alongside the Centre Manager, Specialist Outreach Teaching Assistant and Outreach Speech & Language Therapist to deliver programmes that includes specialist assessment, teaching, therapy, advice and training.

The Specialist SLCN Outreach Teacher will have a TLR with specific responsibility for devising and developing Training packages to early years settings and mainstream primary schools on strategies and access for pupils with SLCN.

The role will include planning and teaching to individual pupils on caseload or small groups in order to develop their English and mathematical skills and social and emotional well-being as part of the overall programme of outreach support.

The role requires a Teacher with significant teaching experience of pupils with speech, language and communication needs, in a mainstream primary settings. The Teacher should be an excellent classroom practitioner, patient, calm, a good communicator, confident in working in a variety of settings and with external agencies and parents and who is excellent at problem solving with a 'can do' approach.
