Teaching Assistant 

(Scale 2/3 depending on experience)

Required for ASAP or January 2025 start

32.5 hours – Fixed Term until July 2025

The Governors are seeking to appoint an experienced, confident, and hardworking 1-1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with an Educational Health Care Plan.

The hours will be 8.30am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday including half hour lunchtime duty. 

You will work alongside and support the class teacher making effective use of resources to achieve the highest standards of learning and achievement for the pupil. Experience of working with children with social, emotional and mental health would be an advantage.

Responsibilities include:

  • supporting the pupil’s learning in class and on a one-to-one basis
  • delivering planned interventions
  • facilitating the pupil’s learning to encourage independence
  • implementing the school’s behaviour policy to support the pupil
  • providing detailed and regular feedback to teachers on the pupil’s progress and achievement
  • helping to make appropriate resources to support the pupil
  • establishing supportive relationships with the pupil concerned and their parents/carers
