We are seeking a positive, enthusiastic and experienced Social Emotional Mental Health Lead with exceptional behaviour management skills to work within a primary school, supporting pupils with Social Emotional Mental Health and other needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a school where:

We have a highly skilled, passionate team who has individual pupil achievement at the heart of everything. We work collaboratively and have our own unique ways of ensuring that the children get the best possible offer. By joining us you will thrive and continue to develop as a Teaching Assistant and most important of all, feel valued and believed in.
Our staff understand that for pupils to successfully engage in academic learning, they need to feel supported and belong. Our Learning Hub is our dedicated space in school, specifically designed to help support pupils so they feel ready to access the classroom environment.

- Liaising with TAs and class teachers of identified pupils
- Contributing to the creation and implementation of ‘individual behaviour plans’
- Supporting pupils at lunchtime
- Planning and leading activities to help pupils develop essential skills and strategies (e.g. managing frustrations, flexibility, communicating feelings)
- Setting clear and consistent expectations
- Giving pupils a fresh start for each session
- Communicating with parents and carers
In return, the successful Social Emotional Mental Health teaching assistant will:
- Work alongside supportive senior leaders, including the SENDCO

- Have access to a range of training/professional development opportunities
- Be based in our newly refurbished ‘Learning Hub’
- Have the autonomy to use professional expertise when making decisions about what is right for our pupils
- Be supported by other professionals such as, Educational Psychologist, SEND advisory services, Speech and Language team etc
- Sufficient time to plan and prepare lessons
- Allocation of budget to use at your discretion
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a passion for working with young people and want to make a difference in people’s lives
- Have a good understanding of the impact of trauma and empathy towards the needs of our young children
- Bring positive commitment to young people and an awareness of their needs
