The countywide Leaving Care and Asylum Team has 2 work bases across the the county. It is currently responsible for services to over 500 young people meeting its statutory responsibilities towards young people in care and care leavers and and over 100 unaccompanied asylum seeking young people. As an ambitious service committed to continuous improvement it is undertaking preparatory work in order to meets its responsibilities under the Children and Social Work Act 2017 and to securing better outcomes for all young people whatever their circumstances.
22.0 Hours per Week
Fixed term contract or 24 months.
The post holder will be responsible for workload allocation and decision making, staff recruitment and supervision, financial and budgetary responsibilities. The post holder will also contribute and lead in key areas of service development, review and quality assurance.
To be a qualified social worker with experience of staff supervision. Knowledge of Children's legislation and leaving care requirements. An understanding and experience of safeguarding, risk analysis and legal processes including care planning and pathway planing requirements. Experience of contributing towards service development and improvement.
