John Randall Primary school and Nursery is a small, one-form entry school, which is continuously growing and adapting to meet the needs of pupils within the South Cluster Area of Telford.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a small primary school known for its supportive, family-like atmosphere, where building strong relationships with children and families is at the heart of our approach

The Governors are seeking to appoint a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant from February 2025 on a permanent contract.  We are looking for someone who will demonstrate competency in the following three inter-related areas as set out in the Professional Standards for Higher Level Teaching Assistants:

  • Professional values and practice
  • Knowledge and understanding
  • Teaching and Learning activities

The successful candidate will demonstrate a good knowledge of the expectations in literacy and numeracy and can work effectively as part of a team.

The successful HLTA will be expected to cover and lead class teaching across the school and Nursery when appropriate, directing the work, where relevant, of other adults in supporting learning. They will undertake any other relevant duties given by the class teacher and school leaders and will contribute to the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum – a curriculum grounded in assessment for learning to drive progress and raise standards for all learners.
