Job Details
We are looking to recruit an outstanding teacher to join Warwickshire’s Specialist Teaching Service. This Service supports schools in their strategic response to meeting the needs of learners with cognition and learning, social emotional and mental health, as well as communication and interaction needs.
The Role
Working hours: Full Time, term time only
We are looking for experienced and skilled mainstream practitioners to work in a Service which has considerable experience of trading with schools over twenty years.
This post requires the ability to be skilled, organised and flexible in a high pressured environment. We welcome candidates with a strong customer care ethos in supporting schools to meet the needs of vulnerable pupils.
Key skills and requirements
A qualified teacher, educated to degree level with a specialist SEND postgraduate qualification (or working towards one) and / or extensive experience in working with learners with SEND
You will also have:
- significant and successful post qualification mainstream experience with up to date knowledge and understanding of SEND effective practice and issues;
- the ability to influence and support senior leaders in schools and settings, promoting excellent, evidenced based practice to meet an increasingly diverse range of need and to influence practice at an earlier stage;
- the ability to support schools to increase the knowledge and confidence of primary and secondary school staff in meeting the needs of CYP with SEND
- the experience and expertise to empower families and service users;
- the ability to work under pressure, meeting unpredictable deadlines and managing competing demands effectively;
- the ability to be part of the ‘team around the child’, working flexibly, to develop and share creative approaches, positively influencing the practice of others through training and coaching.
