Teaching Assistant - High Ercall Primary School
Permanent, Scale 2, £8.18 - £8.54 per hour

HOURS: 5 afternoons – 10 hours, PLUS 2 MORNINGS – 6.5 HOURS. Potential for additional lunchtime hours depending on suitability of the candidate.

To start as soon as possible.

POST 1 (afternoons) : 10 hours Teaching assistant for intervention support for children in KS1. Experience with the KS1 curriculum, including phonics essential.

POST 2 (2 x mornings): SEN support for specific children working in KS1 and KS2. SEN experience desirable.

Main Purpose of the Post:

To work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.

 We are looking for someone who:

  • is flexible and positive
  • has successful experience of working with children in KS1 and KS2
  • has good knowledge of SEN and intervention support
  • relates well to children and adults
  • works constructively and efficiently as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and their own position within these
  • contributes to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school
  • has good numeracy and literacy skills
  • has NVQ Level 3 – or is working towards this qualification.
