Working 36.5 hours per week.
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Application Support Engineer to join our dynamic Applications team at Birmingham City Council. As an Application Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for the upkeep and support of various software applications and systems. You'll work closely with our technical teams and end-users to guarantee the smooth running of our products and offer effective solutions to customer issues promptly.
The ideal candidate should be an attentive, user-centric, and self-driven individual capable of providing functional and technical support and guidance to end-users and internal teams. They should also be able to collaborate and work systematically with other stakeholders to ensure optimal implementation, performance, and support of a variety of solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The Role
We are looking for an individual with experience of both IT & Revenues and Benefits. The successful candidate will join a team supporting a variety of applications across Revenues & Benefits, Finance, Legal, and Democratic services.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on knowledge of a Revenues & Benefits application, with a preference for experience in 3rd Party products from NEC (formerly Northgate).
- Application Support: Contribute to seamless support and operation of applications across multiple business areas.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain excellent relationships with peers and stakeholders within the business
About You
- Experience: Experience in Revenues and Benefits.
- Technical Skills: Strong IT skills, with hands-on experience in managing software applications.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
