SEN Teaching Assistant
Job Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: TA2 point 5, £19127.17 per annum (actual salary)
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm
The Governors of Whittington C E Primary School are looking to appoint a SEN Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide specific support for pupils, working alongside the classroom teacher to deliver programmes of learning.
The duties and responsibilities allocated to the post include:
- Support learning through an individualised/ differentiated curriculum.
- Adapt the curriculum to suit needs (with support from the class teacher).
- Maintain records of progress against identified objectives.
- Assist with general hygiene issues, including help with toileting.
- Carry out an identified speech and language programme.
- Help the child/ ren to socialise with peers and other children within school.
- Attend appropriate training.
- Attend review meetings.
- Work as part of a team within the class.
- To support children on a one to one basis /within a small group and within the whole class.
- To encourage the child/ ren to become independent.
- Work on own initiative whilst working under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo
This post is being offered as a TA 2 pay scale post and the contract is permanent, starting as soon as possible.
