Job Details

Sandwell Council’s Income and Money Advice Service is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our Rent Accounting and Home Ownership Service. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity of our rent accounting systems and ensuring the financial wellbeing of our tenants and leaseholders.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide accurate financial information, advice, and guidance within the Rent Accounting and Home Ownership Service
  • Maintain and develop business processes to enhance systems control functions
  • Support the Rent Accounting and Home Ownership Team Lead in delivering efficient services
  • Assist with the implementation of new application releases, upgrades, and patches
  • Manage reconciliations and produce financial reports as required.

You will have a rich and varied experience working with both internal and external customer.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • GCSE Maths and English and additional qualification at level 2
  • Working in a fast-pace environment and the need to multitask
  • Flexibility, reliability and able to work in an agile environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Forward thinking in your approach tasks and problem solving
  • Positive attitude Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret complex financial information
  • Experience in reconciliation and analysing data
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft, particularly Excel spreadsheets
  • Confident and enthusiastic
  • Be organised and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure

Hours:

37 hours per week
