Contract: Full-Time 32.5 hrs,  start time 8.30am

Start date, as soon as possible (subject to satisfactory clearance checks)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Old Hill Primary School and Nursery as a Learning Support Assistant, supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

As a Level 2 Learning Support Assistant, you will work collaboratively with our team to support SEND pupils across various age groups, both in our dedicated hub and in the classroom. At Old Hill Primary, we pride ourselves on fostering independence in our pupils rather than relying on one-to-one “velcro-style” support.

You will:

  • have experience and be passionate with working with children with special educational needs
  • hold a Level 2 in childcare or equivalent
  • be enthusiastic about teaching and making a difference to the lives of our pupils, both academically and emotionally
  • have good knowledge in English, including spoken grammar and maths
  • work within a team of enthusiastic staff and liaise with teachers, parents and professionals relating to the needs of children
  • be eager to continually develop your own practice
  • contribute to wider school practice

  We can offer:

  • a friendly, supportive shoulder
  • experienced, intelligent and friendly staff
  • high quality professional development based on evidence and research
  • sensible and trusting, evidence-based systems that consider ways of reducing workload
  • a real work-life balance
  • little humans who are just waiting for you to enrich their lives!

We’re a small, one-form entry school with a family feel and welcoming staff. Candidates are strongly encouraged to visit the school so that you can get a sense of what we’re like. Please contact our Business Manager, Kylie Raybould, on 01384 569213 to make an appointment.
