Job Details
Our specialist Families and Friends Support Team supports placements for children and young people who are cared for by a relative or friend, where their own parents are not able to. We are a dedicated passionate social work service, led by experienced managers that support, advise and supervise all approved family and friend carers. This strengthens our Trust commitment to the importance for children to remain with their families throughout their childhood and we help them achieve the most positive outcomes.
As a Senior Supervising social worker, you will be passionate about making a positive difference and achieve change for the children and families we work with. You will be responsible for managing a complex caseload of approved Family and Friends Foster carers.
You will be provided with a supportive team environment where you will have access to the right tools, equipment and resources, so you can focus on your work. You will receive regular supervision and a comprehensive training programme which will support your career development.
Assistant Head of Service, Kim Smith has been with the Trust since 2015, she highlights why she chose this sector to develop her social work career -
‘Our service builds lifelong relationships with families, so all children and young people remain with relatives and maintain a strong family network through childhood and beyond into adulthood that positively impacts upon them’ Kim further added: ‘My role allowed me a perfect career development opportunity to become a specialist in permanence case management, whilst maintaining safeguarding and court skills’.
