The Federation of Abbey Infant and Junior School is a primary school with a split site, comprising of a 3 form entry infant and junior school. Both schools operate under one executive head and deputy, providing a cohesive and collaborative learning environment for pupils.
Teacher with TLR for Computing and Technology Across the Curriculum
We are seeking an exceptional, class-based teacher to join our team as the Computing Subject Lead, responsible for championing the use of technology across all subject areas. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the educational experience of our pupils, driving innovation and digital safety through the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of the school's computing curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, challenging, and aligned with the latest educational standards.
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that meet the needs of all pupils.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues in integrating technology effectively into their teaching, including the use of apps, SEND-specific tools, and AI-powered solutions.
- Oversee the school's digital safety strategy, ensuring that pupils are equipped with the knowledge and skills to navigate the online world safely and responsibly.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and discipline, ensuring a safe and positive classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team to identify and implement new technologies that enhance teaching and learning across the school.
- Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues to foster strong relationships and support pupil wellbeing.
- Manage the computing budget and resources, ensuring that the school's technology infrastructure is well-maintained and fit for purpose.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified teacher status with a strong background in computing or a related subject.
- Extensive experience in using technology to support teaching and learning, with a proven track record of driving innovation in the classroom.
- Excellent knowledge of the latest developments in educational technology, including emerging trends and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, providing effective coaching and professional development opportunities.
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
Desirable Qualities:
- Passion for technology and a commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with both staff and pupils.
