Salary: £28,907 - £30,889 per annum
35 Hours per Week
Location: Flexible Hybrid Working with some time spent at our Wildwood/County Hall Offices - WR5 2NP

Team: Place Planning
60 month Fixed Term Contract

The Candidate:

An individual with a 2:1 degree, or equivalent, level qualification (any specialty), to join us as an apprentice Town Planner. Although beneficial, it is not required that you have a planning background, we are more interested in great creative thinking, problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to come up with imaginative solutions to planning challenges.

We will support you with learning on the job and to obtain your Chartered Town Planner - Master of Science (Level 7) qualification and go on to become a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).

The Role:

By joining us, you'll play a key role in planning the critical infrastructure needed to drive economic growth, protect the environment, and improve the well-being of our communities, developing Worcestershire cities, towns, villages and our countryside. This will include projects such as roads, transport systems, schools, waste management facilities, and other vital services that help shape Worcestershire into a vibrant and sustainable place to live, work, and visit.

You will get chance to work with, and learn from, a wide range of talented professionals, including engineers, planners, surveyors, project managers and ecologists, both from within the County Council and from external organisations.

The job is varied and diverse, with no two days the same, so if you thrive on new challenges, have a ‘can-do’ attitude and are an excellent communicator, then apply to join our passionate and supportive team today.

You’ll find an overview of the benefits Worcestershire County Council have to offer on our webpage
