About the role of Evening and Overnight Activities Leader
This role is leading and supporting evening and overnight events at the Market Hall and St Johns House museums in Warwick.
At the Market Hall museum you will be running our Night at the Museum sleepover experience. Groups arrive for the Lego challenge, pizza and chips and watch a film before settling down for a night with the exhibits. You will need to be comfortable lone working for these events and enthused about sleeping at the museum too. We take bookings for sleepovers on Friday and Saturday nights for organised groups of children and accompanying adults.
This role also works with another Evening and Overnight Activities leader to supervise overnight hire of St Johns House museum. You are responsible for unlocking the building, greeting the individuals who have hired the building and ensuring the safety of the building during the event. You will need to be comfortable working until the early hours of the morning. We take bookings for overnight hire on Friday and Saturday nights.
A Duty Manager is also on call through the Sleepovers and overnight hires. From time to time the role can also include assisting with private functions at the Market Hall museum alongside the Development Team.

Heritage and Culture Warwickshire has several sites based in and around Warwick; Market Hall Museum, St Johns House, Warwickshire County Record Office and a Collections Centre for the museum collections. We are a countywide service and work with partners from within and outside Warwickshire County Council to offer outreach services to local communities.
About the Learning and Community Engagement team
The Learning and Community Engagement team (Lace) consists of the Senior Lace Officer, a Lace Officer, a Lace Trainee, the Volunteer Coordinator, an Exhibitions and Engagement Officer who are the core team, and several teams of staff who deliver our activity programmes. We deliver workshops for schools at HCW sites and in schools, an events and activities programme for families and adult audiences at the Market Hall museum and the County Record Office, we run regular groups that meet at the Market Hall museum such as Arty Tots, we run sleepovers and supervise overnight commercial hire of St Johns House. The Support Assistant and Overnight activities teams also support the Development Team with the delivery of events for income generation.
Our school workshop programme is delivered by a team of Group Leaders, assisted by the Support Assistant team. The Support Assistant team, with the Evening and Overnight Activity Leaders team, deliver our family holiday events in the Market Hall Museum and evening events. The Evening and Overnight Activity Leaders also supervise and run group sleepovers at the Market Hall museum.
Key Requirements:
We are looking for individuals who enjoy working with people and are friendly and welcoming. Good organisational and time keeping skills will help you succeed in this role. Teamworking and communication is key to this role. You will have key holder responsibility as part of this role. Although an interest in heritage is useful it is not essential for this role.
The post is offered as a casual contract as the availability of work is dependent upon groups making bookings for the Night at the Museum sleepover experience or private hire of the buildings.
