Job Details

Birmingham Children’s Trust continues to go from strength to strength. We are the largest provider of family support and social care services for children, young people and families in the country. Our goal is to become a centre of excellence in both social work and family support.

We have an exciting opportunity for the right person who wants to make a difference to the lives of children and young people within the Trust. Working as a Rights and Participation worker you will be supporting the development and delivery of the Rights and Participation service for children and people.

Can you provide information, guidance and advocacy to children and young people based on principles of empowerment, respect, independence, choice, equal access and anti-discriminatory practice?

You will be working with a range of young people who include children in care, care leavers and children and young people on child protection plans. Can you support children and young people to understand their rights and entitlements and ensure that that their views are clearly represented?

Within the role you will also have to work directly with children and young people and establish processes for participation that enables their involvement in decision making and ensuring their views are heard and taken seriously. Co-production and consultation are important part of the Trusts approach in shaping and delivering services and you will support these key principles in your role.
