The Role: 

We have an exciting opportunity to join the busy Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Team at Worcestershire County Council as an Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Officer, specialising in community engagement and resilience.

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Officer who will work as part of a busy emergency planning team, sat within Public Health in WCC.  There will be a key focus for this officer on community engagement, embedding Whole of Society resilience across the county. Good communication is essential for the role, together with the ability to work collaboratively with partners and communities. Knowledge and experience of emergency planning and/or community engagement will also be a key asset to the role.

The Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Team ensures that Worcestershire County Council's priorities and aspirations are at the heart of what we do and is managed appropriately in accordance with policies and procedures. A key element of the role is responsibility for supporting community groups in enhancing their resilience, in collaboration with our six district councils and multi-agency partners.

As part of the role, you will join the Emergency Planning Duty Officer rota, where you’ll be the first point of contact for partners in incidents. Full training will be provided for this role, and you will be paid an on-call allowance.

This role is advertised as an SO1-PO1 development role. Dependent upon your experience, your starting salary and grade will be within either of these. Please refer to both Job Descriptions and Personal Specifications when completing your application for the role.

Monday to Friday, but with requirement to perform on-call on a rota basis which may involve evening and weekend working.
