About the Team:
Warwickshire’s Kinship Assessment Team within the fostering service is responsible for evaluating and supporting family members or close friends who wish to become kinship carers for children who cannot remain with their birth families.
As a Team Manager in our Kinship Assessment Team, you will lead a team of dedicated and experienced professionals including social workers and family support workers. You will support them to innovate and develop further the support provided to kinship carers and Special Guardians. Your role will include a quality assurance role, allocations, supervision and giving specialist knowledge. You will work alongside legal and children’s teams. Therefore, prior experience in kinship work is desirable.

About the Role:
We are recruiting for the role of Kinship Team Manager in our Fostering Service, primarily based from Myton Park, Warwick. The role is full time, 37 hours.
Role Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and develop staff, retaining and attracting talent.
- Quality assure assessments.
- Monitor, plan, and review team outcomes, holding regular meetings to set priorities and expectations.
- Conduct annual appraisals and 1:1 sessions to review performance.
- Manage and support teams through organizational change.
- Implement statutory and regulatory duties, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
- Maintain business continuity during service disruptions.
- Address performance issues and foster a high-performance culture.
- Adopt a one council approach, acting corporately across WCC.
- Represent WCC's values and interests on external bodies and networks.

Key Requirements:
Applicants for the role will need a professional Social Work qualification and Social Work England Registration.
Other key requirements include:
- Social Work Qualification and SWE registered (essential)
- Approved Enhanced DBS Children Workforce (essential)
- Management and/or supervisory experience (preferable)
- Experience in working with Kinship Carers (preferable)
