The Role:

Registration Officer (Ceremonies)  – Worcestershire Registration Service

Workings hours/pattern: as and when required Monday – Sunday

Do you want to be part of a special service, one that touches people at the most important times in their lives? Then this post may be just what you are looking for.

We have a rare opportunity to offer Registration Officer posts to work within our Service.  Registration Officer – Ceremonies - This role conducts and registers weddings, civil partnerships and other ceremonies which occur largely at weekends and increasingly during on weekdays.   We have the ability to carry out ceremonies every day of the year.

We make no apologies for providing excellence.  Our standards are high. We deliver a service to the community, often at the most exciting and sometimes vulnerable times in their lives, so the need for integrity and professionalism is paramount. We need to be able to deliver the right service at the right time, so a flexible approach to work is essential. Being part of our Service is demanding, rewarding and unique.  Are you the person we are looking for?

All these roles are peripatetic posts and we will call you as and when we need you. You will need to be flexible and available to work, sometimes at short notice to meet the statutory requirements and demands of the Service.  The busiest months are between March and October and you will therefore need to be able to offer consistent availability.

Bring your skills and qualities to our team and we will provide full training in all the technical aspects of the role.  What skills are we looking for? Our person specification provides all the details, but our focus is how you would look after our community.  The Service needs you to be able to empathise with people at key times in their lives; enjoy working with people and have the necessary confidence and presence to officiate at weddings and other ceremonies; be able to work with meticulous attention to detail; have excellent IT skills; be able to work under pressure, within tight deadlines and be able to easily make your way around the county.  We can guarantee no two days will be the same!

Have a look at our website to see what we do www.worcestershire.gov.uk and follow the link to Birth, Death, Marriage and Citizenship.  Do you think you could work as part of our team? If you do, then we would love to hear from you.
