Sports Teacher – KS3/4 – Qualified.

Alpha Learning is a small Independent School that has recently gained its Ofsted registration. We cater for KS3 and KS4 students who have disengaged from mainstream education. It is an exciting time to join Alpha as we are beginning the journey from Alternative provider to Independent school and we are looking for a dynamic individual who wants to be part of a team that will move Alpha forward. We are seeking to employ a teacher (Qualified) of Sport to include BTEC Sport and another subject from the following - ICT/Art/Science/Geography/History at both KS4 and KS3. As we are a specialist independent school, we have small class numbers with a maximum of 8 students per class with an emphasis on pastoral care that allows you the time to work closely with students and build positive relationships. You will be responsible for the teaching and development of the Sports Curriculum including Btec Sport alongside another subject of your choice at KS3 and KS4, with support being provided by the Curriculum Manager and Centre Manager where required. It is desirable that you have prior experience working with students with social and emotional and Mental health needs, a working knowledge of SEN would be beneficial. You will have a strong awareness of safeguarding and be prepared to become familiar with and follow the policies of the independent school. Essential Qualities Be a dynamic and inspirational classroom teacher. Resilient and well humoured, who can respond well to a challenge. Organised and timely planning and reporting. Be able to manage students with a range of abilities in a small classroom environment. Be able to work within a small close-knit team. Be comfortable offering PHSE sessions. Hours of work – 8 am – 4pm Mon, Tues, Thurs, 8am -5pm- Wednesday – to attend staff meeting, 8am -3pm Friday. Teaching times 9.30 - 2.30pm What we can offer you Dynamic School Environment.
