Teaching Assistants (SEMH Special School)
Salary: Grade 6 (£26,409 - £29,093 FTE)
Full time 32.5 hours per week, whole year
Fixed Term Contract 32.5 hours per week (The funding for this position will be reviewed on a termly cycle)
Shenstone Lodge School is looking to appoint a skilled, approachable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our existing Team at Shenstone Lodge School in Shenstone, near Lichfield. They will be calm under pressure, resilient, confident, curriculum aware and have experience of successfully managing and supporting primary aged students who can exhibit behaviours that challenge.
In the first instance the post holder will be directed to work with a specific child who has a range of complex needs, however, the school will deploy you to work with groups and classes as necessary to support the broader needs of the school if required.
The school holds the nationally acclaimed Best Practice Teaching Assistant Award which demonstrates our commitment to supporting TAs as a professional and fully integrated part of the school team.
The successful applicants will receive bespoke training (depending on experience) to develop knowledge, skill sets, understanding and effectiveness. This ensures that we offer the best educational and pastoral support for our primary age students.

Shenstone Lodge is a 'split-site', part residential school supporting and educating students who present with Social, Emotional and/or Mental Health needs. It has recently joined The Manor Hall Academy Trust.
The school secured a ‘GOOD’ rating in its last educational Ofsted inspection in May 2017.
The residential provision is inspected by Ofsted annually and received ‘OUTSTANDING’ in February 2020.
The Shenstone Lodge site is based just outside of Shenstone village, near Lichfield in Staffordshire and currently supports students from Y1 toY7.
There is a residential provision on this site which accommodates up to 12 students overnight between Monday and Thursday during term time.
The Brades Lodge site is a day school situated in Tividale, Oldbury and supports students from Y7 to Y11.
The school is funded across the two sites for a total of 95 students.
