Vacancy for Non-Teaching Head of Year

Start Date: As soon as possible

Permanent, Full time (37 hours per week)

Term time plus 1 week (40 weeks per year)

We are a Multi Academy Trust comprising of six secondary schools and one primary school with over 750 employees and over 5,500 students, based in Dudley, West Midlands.

We are looking to appoint a full-time non-teaching head of year. This role is part of our pastoral team with responsibility for an individual year group. As a non-teaching head of year, you will be responsible for the attendance, behaviour, safeguarding and academic performance of all individuals within the elected year group.

The successful candidate must also have a very good subject knowledge and a clear understanding of effective and engaging teaching and learning.

You should have high expectations of students, and self, displaying energy and enthusiasm in and out of the classroom and contribute to the school’s overall success.

No previous experience is necessary but it would be helpful if experiences of a pastoral nature have occurred. Experience in leading initiatives is desirable.

You will need to be:

  • Self-motivated
  • Organised and efficient
  • An effective communicator with all stakeholders
  • Team player
  • Strategic in tracking information to intervene accordingly

This role has been assessed as working in regulated activity and is subject to an Enhanced DBS plus Children’s Barred List Check.
