Job Details

Are you passionate about delivering affordable housing and making a real impact in the community? Sandwell Council’s Housing Partnerships Team is at the forefront of increasing affordable homes across the borough. We lead the council house build programme and work closely with registered providers to support the delivery of their schemes.

As a key contributor to Sandwell Council being named Local Planning Authority of the Year 2024 by the RTPI, our team plays a crucial role in shaping the future of housing in the area. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an award-winning service and make a difference in the lives of local residents.

Job Summary:

  • To lead on the development and delivery of capital projects, mainly the delivery of new council homes.
  • To lead on the drafting of reports to Cabinet and any other reports as necessary.
  • To maintain excellent records using appropriate project management techniques (risk registers, highlight reports, lessons learnt etc).
  • Co-ordinate various technical officers to ensure appropriate technical and professional input into project development and delivery.
  • To review any legal, financial, contractual, or other agreements to ensure they are adhered to and that any necessary reporting and/or monitoring is undertaken.

Essential Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level preferably in a subject related to the role.
  • Experience of project managing the development and delivery of capital projects.
  • Knowledge of current public-sector funding models.
  • Ability to manage complex workloads and prioritise where necessary.
  • Effective communicator and a strong team player, with the ability to motivate others.

37 hours
