Ready to revolutionise public sector recruitment? Join West Midlands Employers - recognised as one of The Sunday Times 100 Best Places to Work for 2024! As a trusted partner to 32 regional councils, we're transforming how the public sector attracts and retains exceptional talent. You can find out more about West Midlands Employers on our Employer Hub.

Your Impact

You'll be at the heart of our award-winning resourcing solutions, helping shape the future of public sector recruitment across the West Midlands. Working across our key services including WMJobs, executive recruitment, and our innovative WMTalent Acquisition platform.

What You'll Do

Working alongside a fellow Resourcing Officer, and supported by the wider team, you'll:

  • Provide expert first-line support to our diverse customer base - from job seekers to recruitment teams, technical application support to selling job packs and subscriptions.
  • Deliver creative recruitment campaigns through WMJobs that make public service careers shine
  • Drive business development by understanding customer needs, researching the market and supporting resourcing consultants to craft compelling proposals to enable WMJobs and WMTalent Acquisition to grow into more areas of the public sector
  • Create engaging content for our audiences and maintain our award-winning platforms
  • Champion public sector careers at regional job fairs
  • Support our thriving regional networks of recruitment professionals
  • Deliver tailored consultancy support, including assessment centres and psychometric testing
  • Deliver WME's internal recruitment processes
  • Contribute to exciting regional projects - from organising groundbreaking job fairs to developing career resources and beyond
  • Help shape our services by identifying and implementing innovative solutions
  • Ensure our systems are up to date and running as needed, ensuring things like functionality releases and changes are understood, adopted and communicated

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A track record of delivering excellent customer service, whether that's supporting internal teams or external clients, business development or project coordination
  • Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR administration that demonstrates a foundation level of understanding of recruitment principles
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail, with experience managing administrative processes efficiently
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Confidence using various IT and recruitment systems and eagerness to learn new digital tools
  • Outstanding communication skills - you'll be connecting with everyone from job seekers to senior stakeholders
  • Flexibility to travel across the West Midlands to support job fairs and deliver on-site consultancy
  • Experience in business development in a HR, resourcing or recruitment environment would be beneficial too.

Most importantly, you'll bring enthusiasm for making a difference in public sector recruitment and a desire to learn and grow with our team.

Although a foundation level of understanding for recruitment principles is essential, we would love to hear from you if you also have a background in Customer Services or Business Development with a recruitment lens.

Why Choose WME?

  • Flexible agile working - blend home and office working in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter
  • Collaborative, innovative environment
  • Work that directly improves public services across the region
  • Chance to influence regional recruitment strategies
  • Be part of an award-winning team making real impact
