Job Details
Sandwell Council has an exciting opportunity within its ICT department for a full-time, suitably qualified ICT engineer to work on the ICT Technology Modernisation Programme.
The successful candidate will have 2 or more years of experience working within the field of ICT, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a team to meet deadlines.
The post holder will be required to work across the ICT Desktop and Adoption team, using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Intune to create and support SMBC’s Windows 10 and 11 gold builds, Use Intune and Lenovo commercial tools to keep operating systems and drivers up to date, support other members of the team when experiencing hardware and software issues and assist with hardware rollouts and customer handovers when required.
The post holder must have a flexible approach and be willing to travel to different sites within the borough; own transport is preferred.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience and technical knowledge of supporting Windows 10 and 11
- Knowledge and experience supporting laptop and desktop hardware.
- Understanding of MECM, Active Directory, Intune and Microsoft Office 365 environments.
- Experience of supporting a wide range of desktop applications within a corporate environment.
- Exceptional all-round communication skills, written, oral, and presentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to drive on-time delivery of tasks.
- Experience of driver update systems and tools.
You must be educated to NVQ level 4 or equivalent or relevant experience.
The post holder must be willing to travel to different Council offices within the borough, e.g. to meet with project stakeholders and team members as required. (A flexible approach will be needed; Own transport preferred.)
