This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the team at Westwood First School. We are a large First School in the Staffordshire Moorlands with 2 pupils on roll (Rec-Y4).  Graded as a Good school in September 2023, we are committed to ensuring that all children become confident, independent individuals who have a thirst for learning and achievement, compassion and understanding for others, and the courage to stand up for what is right. We ensure that children’s talents are nurtured and they are able to thrive so that they have the best chance to lead happy, healthy lives and to be responsible, active citizens.  We are seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor to support in our busy hall and playground at lunchtime.  This will include supervising children during their meal times and supervising safe play through organising games and ensuring pupil safety, well-being and providing emotional support where necessary.    

 

The successful candidate will:

 

- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons you are responsible for or come into contact with.

- Help to maintain a safe working environment for pupils and staff by continuously monitoring dining and general circulation areas for food/drink spillages and taking prompt and effective action to deal with any such hazards in accordance with local procedures.

- Assist the children with their table manners and use of cutlery, and assist with the cutting of meat etc for smaller children.

- Patrol the playground and “out of bounds” areas regularly.

- Organise and supervise games and activities.
