St. John’s Primary Academy has an opportunity to recruit an experienced teacher and fully qualified SENCO to join our team.

 

St. John’s is a larger than average, thriving academy and we are particularly seeking a passionate, dedicated, SENCO. We believe this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our pupils in this non-class-based role.

 

The academy sets high expectations for children to succeed and make outstanding progress. We consistently develop children’s confidence and ambitions and encourage them to grow and become accountable, independent learners.

 

This full-time role provides:

A dynamic, supportive team and a fantastic school community. The opportunity to focus solely on the coordination and support of SEN provision, without any classroom teaching responsibilities.

The opportunity to develop a SENCo Team comprising of other teaching and support staff.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the provision for children with special educational needs across the academy.

• Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.

• Develop and implement individual learning plans, ensuring that students' needs are met effectively.

• Provide advice, guidance, and training to staff to enhance inclusive practices across the school.

• Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEND, ensuring that they receive appropriate interventions and support.

 

What you'll need to succeed:

• You will hold a full UK Qualification for Special Educational Needs Coordination (or equivalent).

• Have a proven track record of working effectively with children with SEND.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, supporting staff and students alike.

• Hold a full QTS. We are also interested in hearing from experienced members of staff who may not be qualified at this time but who are passionate about SEND provision and are willing to undertake the Special Educational Needs qualification should they be appointed.
