Job Details
The council is committed to meeting the needs of our rough sleeper and former rough sleeper population through housing led projects.
We are now looking for a female Homeless Support Officer who can work with our team to meet the needs of female rough sleepers. The officer should have a passion for supporting people to move on with their lives whilst empowering people to make choices for themselves.
The purpose of the job is:
• To develop positive relationships and pathways with organisations to ensure early reporting, intervention and support is available for households.
• To work alongside the customer to create a support / pathway plan into sustainable housing that includes addressing barriers to rehousing.
• To deliver a pre-tenancy programme for homeless and potentially homeless households living within emergency accommodation that includes health and wellbeing, pursuing meaningful activities, education and training and preparing them for employment.
The post holder should have a good basic education including a minimum of five GCSE including Maths and English at A - C level (or equivalent).
The post holder should have some experience in working with customers, preferably in an advice or support role.
This is a fixed term contract, part time 25 hours a week, for one year with an annual salary of £30,238-32,769 (pro-rata)
You will be required to provide a suitable vehicle in connection with the duties of this post.
Flexible approach to working hours, able to work outside normal office hours if necessary, including a requirement to be available for evening meetings.
To work outside normal office hours from time to time as the demands of the post and emergencies dictate in additional to the out of hours rota.
