This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a local authority with a large established legal team who are very forward thinking and continue to expand. As well as delivering legal services to its host local authority, the team has in recent years extended its external client base and currently acts for a wide range of public bodies ranging from schools, fire authorities, other local authorities, charities and universities. The team is at the forefront of generating income for the local authority and is continually seeking new opportunities, partnerships and clients.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with at least 3 years + PQE (or equivalent) with at least two years’ previous experience specialising and handling of complex and high profile employment matters from a Local Authority or within Private Practice.
The successful candidate will need to be confident and experienced to be able to hit the ground running with the role, carrying a varied caseload covering matters but not limited to unfair dismissal, race/sex/disability discrimination, TUPE, internal disciplinary and grievance matters. The candidate may also be required to give advice to Directors on sensitive cases. The candidate will need to be proactive, work well under pressure, self-reliant as well as work as part of a wider team.
The successful candidate would gain great exposure to a varied caseload and would enjoy a high level of responsibility with a great deal of client contact.
