An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Children’s Occupational Therapist at Telford & Wrekin Council. We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible candidate to join our evolving Children’s Occupational Therapy service. The post will include assisting in the delivery of the Councils statutory responsibility for assessment for children in line with children’s legislation, involve complex case management and a commitment to maintaining high standards and to achieving the very best outcomes for children and young people.

Candidates should, as a qualified Occupational Therapist, be registered with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) with evidence of commitment to continued professional and personal practise development as set out by the HCPC. Candidates should have experience in working with children with disabilities within the Occupational Therapy service, including experience in assessment and care approaches to prevention and other interventions which will improve outcomes for children and their families. Also to have experience with major adaptations and applying for Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs). Excellent communication skills are essential as is the ability to record your clinical reasoning. Knowledge and experience of using a range of equipment to support functional ability is needed. Computer skills are important as we use a range of databases/computer programmes to communicate and document our interventions.
