Start Date: as soon as possible

Required as soon as possible to work one hour per day, between 1.15pm and 2.15pm, 5 days a week, term time only.

Braidwood is a very successful secondary school for Deaf young people in purpose built accommodation.

We would like to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisor to work with our d/Deaf pupils.

The duties of the post include the supervision of students during the school lunch break in the Dining Hall, the playground or the classroom. The successful candidate will have experience of working with children and working in a team. We are looking for someone with high expectations of student behaviour, who has a positive approach, is caring and friendly with good interpersonal skills and can act as a good role model for students.

British Sign Language skills are highly desirable but not essential as training will be fully supported.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

For a public sector worker whose first language is a signed language and who is in a public-facing role, the fluency duty will be met by the provision of a sign language interpreter who speaks English or Welsh to the necessary standard of fluency for that role.
