Are you an outstanding Teacher of Mathematics? Can you lead and inspire fellow practitioners? If so, then we want to hear from you.

Sir Thomas Boughey wish to appoint an enthusiastic, confident, professional individual who has the drive and ambition to continue to support development of our Mathematics Faculty. The successful candidate will be a very good classroom teacher who achieves excellent outcomes with students, leads by example and has the desire to challenge and make a real difference.

The Maths Faculty is an experienced team of friendly, committed staff, as is the school staff team as a whole.  The faculty offers a number of extra-curricular opportunities, whether that is the lunch time club, after school study sessions or weekend visits to local universities to take part in the Maths Challenge. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to help take this area of the school to the next level and support the faculty in ensuring that maths lessons are innovative, forward-thinking and inspirational.

Sir Thomas Boughey Academy, part of the United Endeavour trust, is set in the rural area of Hamlerend, within Newcastle Under Lyme.  Although we are a school that ‘requires improvement’ (Ofsted 2017) we are absolutely determined that our school will become good again and ultimately outstanding. Summer 2017 results revealed an improvement in Progress 8, indicating that our exciting time of change is beginning to have a positive impact – and will continue to do so.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or previous second in Maths to join a dedicated and committed team and further develop your abilities and knowledge within a supportive environment. As part of a growing multi-academy trust we can also offer candidates excellent potential career prospects.

We are proud of our school and our professional staff would be pleased to welcome you on an informal visit.
