This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a highly motivated team working at the forefront of a swiftly changing organisation in delivering its flagship Neighbourhood Services which includes responsibility for grounds and environmental maintenance and Highways inspection.

Telford is renowned as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution with the world famous Ironbridge spanning the River Severn located in The Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site and is home to Telford Town Park voted the best park in the country. Our Pride in your Community programme is now well established with over 700 volunteers working alongside us.

The post holder will be the pivotal link between the Local Authority, Parish and Town Council’s and local volunteers.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and experience of partnership working and contract management in a grounds maintenance or street scene environment would be advantageous.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate depth and breadth of knowledge & experience in delivering environmental services and contract management, including implementing new ways of working.

As part of the Neighbourhoods team you must be prepared to undertake in hours/out of hours service cover including Winter Maintenance Technician duties and dealing with emergencies for which an additional allowance is paid. From April 2019 it is planned that this aspect of work will be taken over by an external contractor
