36.5 hours per week during term time only

Post 1: To support SEN students with a range of needs, including cognitive/literacy and numeracy

Post 2: To work predominantly with EAL students with little or no English

Are you passionate, enthusiastic, motivated and committed to raising achievement of students with a range of additional needs and barriers to learning?

We are seeking to appoint Raising Achievement Assistants who are highly motivated and innovative in their work with young people who have additional needs.

Swanshurst is a very successful and innovative Specialist Science College for girls with 1800 students on roll aged 11-19 years. Ofsted (2013) found Swanshurst to be “A good school”, recognising that “students make good progress overall and some make exceptional progress.”

You will be working in a new and vibrant team and will bring with you particular experience, skills or interests in working with students who may have the following barriers to learning:

  • Visual/ hearing impairment or other physical difficulties.
  • Specific learning difficulties, including dyslexia and dyscalculia.
  • Autism, communication and anxiety barriers.
  • EAL.
  • Literacy and numeracy.
  • General cognition and learning.
