Warwickshire County Council are looking for Reablement Assistants to join the Reablement South Team based in Shipston, Studley and Stratford areas of Warwickshire.

The Role

25.0 Hours per Week

What is Reablement?
Reablement is a service that is all about promoting independence, supporting people to do as much as possible for themselves, both physically and psychologically. This is a free initiative, up to a maximum of 6 weeks, for all new individuals over the age of 18 who are eligible for home care, and anyone discharged from hospital with an increase to their established care package.

Why Reablement?
We believe in enabling those we support to identify and achieve outcomes in every aspect of their lives. In taking this personalised approach, you provide choice and control over how each individual’s support will be delivered; just one aspect of the positive impact you will have in this role.

Who are you looking for?

  • Someone who has a genuine desire to care
  • Someone who wants to enable people to live independently
  • Someone who wants a role that really is life-changing

We need you to have a driving licence and a car, owing to the travel in the role, but we do not need you to be formally qualified to be a successful Reablement Assistant.

This role could be a career transition opportunity, your first job or a chance to develop your career.
We welcome any background; first job, secretarial, retail, public service, military and beyond. If you have a passion for helping others, like an ever-changing schedule and have flexibility to work on a rota'd shift basis, this would be perfect for you. See a real-life example of the role here :

Along with the satisfaction of supporting and enabling independent living for so many, you'll have access to a host of Warwickshire County Council benefits, including a good pension, paid travel time, full initial and ongoing training, plus the opportunity to be funded through your QCF Health and Social Care qualifications. On top of this, there are progression opportunities for those who want them.

We have a range of permanent part time job opportunities available:

20 - 25 hours per week on a shift basis. 7am-2:30pm for two weeks and 2:30pm to 10pm third week covering Shipston, Studley and Stratford areas of Warwickshire.

Evenings and weekends only, hours are variable and can be negotiated. Covering Shipston, Studley and Stratford areas of Warwickshire.

£8.54 - £9.20 an hour plus travel expenses and an enhanced rate for weekend working and bank holidays.

Key Requirements

  • You will be required to work throughout the whole of South Warwickshire, this is dependent on the business needs of the service.
  • You must have a driving licence and be a car owner.
