EatWell Project Assistant

£9.36 - £10.43 per hour

Scale 4

25 hours per week

Fixed term contract until March 2019

Telford & Wrekin Council is committed to developing and supporting a range of healthy family eating initiatives both within school and community settings.


The context of the provision is in response to targets set by the PHT (Public Health Team) to address rising levels of childhood obesity in the Borough.


By working with the PHT, Commercial & Education Catering Service, Carers Well Being and Educational Workshops, The Family Learning Service and Various other initiatives we will deliver the Eatwell Programme to families within the Borough.


Widening participation in the Eatwell initiative aims to reach Nursery/school age children, influence their families and encourage a greater awareness in the food they eat.  


The provision is delivered in school and community venues and can include after school, weekend and holiday activities for families.

During the course of your employment you will be required to undertake training and development activities.


Hours of Work – 25 hours per week, flexible


Temporary Fixed Term contract. March 2019


The post holder must have a clean current driving licence with category C1


The appointment will be subject to a satisfactory medical assessment, and an employment check under the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.


In addition an enhanced disclosure check through the confidential process administered by the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) will be undertaken. A conviction may not exclude candidates from these jobs but will be considered as part of the process.
