12 month fixed term contract 35 hours a week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Green Fingers project team. These two 35 hour a week fixed-term 12 month posts will be term time only, with a requirement for a further 20 days work during holiday periods. Green Fingers is a Lottery funded project for Worcestershire Looked After, Adopted and Kinship young people and is based within the ISL Health and Well-being team.
The focus of the project is to improve the health and well-being of both young people and carers.
Your role will be to support Looked After, Adopted and Kinship young people in apprenticeships, community and leisure and educational activities.
The work is varied and you will be required to deliver a variety of activities for Looked After Adopted, and Kinship young people such as arts, music, gardening, cooking, healthy lifestyle and woodwork. Previous experience of working in these or a similar setting would be advantageous. You will be based in Worcester but
will be required to travel throughout the county.
You will be required to work flexibly with some evening and weekend work. There may also be the opportunity to do additional hours.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day activities at Green Fingers and providing support and guidance for sessional workers, apprentices and volunteers on a daily basis. We are looking for enthusiastic and creative individuals who have
experience of working with young people in one -to- one and group settings and are able to plan and risk assess activities. You will need to be able to build rapport and motivate young people, to support their individual needs, some of whom will display challenging behaviours and have attachment difficulties. You will be required to
liaise with other professionals and will need an adaptable and responsive approach to working.
Successful candidates will be able to work autonomously and will make a real difference to Looked After, Adopted and Kinship young people in Worcestershire.
Proposed interview date 1st March 2018
