Warwickshire’s Democratic Services team sits within the Law and Governance Division of the Resources Group. At the very heart of the organisation, the Service is responsible for managing the Council’s democratic processes, working closely with all elected members and providing support to both the Executive (Cabinet) and Overview and Scrutiny functions.
The Role
37.0 Hours per Week
We are looking for a confident, proactive individual with excellent communication skills to support a range of council meetings, including the Warwickshire Police and Crime Panel, an Overview and Scrutiny Committee and single topic task and finish groups.
Key Requirements
Ideally you will be educated to degree level or equivalent, e.g. ADSO Diploma level, have at least 3 years experience working in Democratic Services or in a Scrutiny role. You will have highly developed communication skills and be experienced in writing reports and presenting information to a range of audiences.
As well as being able to consistently meet demanding deadlines in a pressurised environment, you will have strong influencing and interpersonal skills in order to deal with a variety of people at all levels in and outside the Council. You will also be able to work flexibly and have a positive approach to problem-solving, research and analysis.
