The Parks Ranger Service requires an additional member of staff to complete a team that provide a mobile patrol service to park sites across the City, investigating, dealing with, and reporting on incidents and reports of anti-social behaviour, damage, or hazards

You will undertake inspections of parks facilities and equipment, and carry out parks locking duties in the evenings. You will be part of a team that provide a mobile patrol service to park sites across the City, investigating, dealing with, and reporting on incidents and reports of anti-social behaviour, damage, or hazards

You will also be part of the Out of Hours emergency call out service on a rota basis to deal with alarm call outs or major incidents on park sites

Experience of working within the public environment

Experience of maintaining/participating in an “out of hours” call out service.

Prepared to work unsociable hours, weekend/bank holiday work.

Full clean driving license

Ability to manage own workload and work without direct supervision.

Ability to respond to public needs in a professional and friendly manner.

Ability to interpret the Parks Bye Laws so as to deal effectively with anti-social behaviour incidents

Ability to produce written and verbal reports and liaise with the emergency services

Ability to meet high volume and regular inspection targets.

Ability to use IT: MS Office and Outlook

Summer Hours 14:40 - 23.00 Winter Hours 14:30 - 21:30

Special Conditions:

• There will be an occasional requirement for out of hours attendance at various events on parks.

• Ranger Patrol Officers currently work 2 out of 3 weekends on a rota. This requirement is fully covered in the rate of pay above.

• Ranger Patrol Officers also work 8 out of 12 Bank Holiday days for which additional payment is claimed.

• A full driving license is essential.
