Pegasus Primary School is a 1-form entry, mixed primary school for pupils aged 4-11. We are proud to be part of The Ninestiles Academy Trust, alongside another three primary schools, three secondary schools, and a sixth form college at present.

Together, the school and the Trust have an exciting opportunity for an excellent and experienced teacher of maths. You will be our lead practitioner - a model of good practice with a passion for the development of mathematics across the Trust. You will bring concrete experience, help others picture what quality first teaching looks like, and bring out the best in all those you support – pupils and adults alike.

The role will be class based for four days a week with release time as required to support, model and coach staff within our school. Initially, this role is within upper KS2. On the fifth day, you will working with the Trust Maths Development Team - developing an outstanding maths pedagogy across all our primary schools and the wider Trust.

Ideally (though not essential), you will have experience of the Shanghai and Singapore approach to the mastery of maths. We are introducing Effective Maths in all four primaries within the Trust, and this takes learning from those countries and applies it to the UK context and National Curriculum. Most important will be your passion, and proven record for developing a thinking culture that gives pupils the key knowledge, skills and understanding to succeed in maths; alongside the development of staff to provide those effective learning sequences. Your proactive support for the Maths Team with digesting and applying the best current research to inform best practice should be a given.

This is an exciting, new role within the school and Trust, which we see as developing and evolving over the academic year, including the candidate’s own input.

If the potential of this role excites you, we would love to hear from you. Please contact the school office on 0121 464 4293 to arrange an informal visit and to meet our fabulous children.

Please visit our websites at www.ninestilesacademytrust.org.uk or www.pegasusprimary.org.uk for application forms and further details. Alternatively you can contact the Trust office on 0121 628 1311 or email recruitment@ninestiles.org.uk.

Closing date is noon on 14th March and interviews will be held on 19-21 March.

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.  The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students and we expect all applicants to share this commitment.  Appointments will be subject to satisfactory clearance of an enhanced DBS disclosure.
