About Us

Transport Operations secures all home to school transport provision for mainstream students and students with special educational needs as well as transport to day care and respite services.  We operate from 4 bases in Warwickshire (Nuneaton, Rugby, Stratford and Warwick) using a fleet of specially adapted buses.

We are looking for a Driver to join us, working from our Warwick depot, for 25 hours per week.  This role will be offered as a “floating” role and you will work from any one of our depots as required.

Going forward we may have other Driver roles available with different hours.

The Role

As our Driver, you’ll be working within a team, on a split shift system that will include the morning shift from 6.45 am to 11.00 am and you will then return for the afternoon shift somewhere between the hours of 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm each week day. You’ll be responsible for assisting and transporting adults and children to Day Care; Respite placements and Schools across Warwickshire.  As well as driving, you’ll be helping passengers on and off the bus; ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation; maintaining the vehicle records and ensuring the bus is clean and tidy after each use.  In addition you’ll be working on a term time basis; may undertake the Passenger Assistant duties and will help the wider team as required.  A full training package will be provided.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, it’s important you hold a clean Driving Licence with Category D1; enjoy driving and are available to work shifts in the early mornings and afternoons.  As this role is offered on “floating” basis you will need to be flexible in your approach; work from different locations as required and have your own transport.  With good communication and customer care skills, you'll enjoy meeting and assisting people of various ages and disabilities providing a courteous and sensitive service.  With the ability to work within a team and on your own initiative and support the wider Transport team as necessary, you’ll be used to handling confidential information with tact and discretion.  It would be advantageous if you have experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and have experience of working with young and elderly people who are disabled.
