Permanent, part-time post.  2.5 days or equivalent hours to commence 16th April 2018.

  • Nelson Primary School is looking to appoint a family support worker who will provide a family support service for families with complex needs.

You will work within the context of the Early Help Framework as part of an integrated children, young people and family service.

  • Liaise professionally with external agencies such as Housing, NSPCC, Children’s Centres, Social Care, Health, FTB and the Early Intervention Team.
  • Attend and participate in regular meetings as appropriate and report back.
  • You will have demonstrable experience of working with children and families and a understanding of good parenting and of risk factors and safeguarding concerns to children and vulnerable adults.  You should have an understanding of the role of statutory and voluntary organisations providing care and the ability to negotiate with other service providers and to influence their response in order to improve the service provided to families under your care.
  • To act as a point of contact in school for families in need of support
  • Have a full driving license and the use of own car.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
