The Corporate Equality and Diversity team is part of HR and OD and delivers a professional Equality and Diversity advisory service across the Council.

The Role

37.0 Hours per Week

Following the promotion of the current job holder we have an opportunity for an experienced, customer focussed and highly motivated specialist to join our small Corporate Equalities team. 

As our Senior Equality and Diversity Officer you will deliver proactive, best practice advice to managers, employees and partners to meet service and legal requirements, as well as promote and contribute to developing the corporate equalities agenda.

Key Requirements

You must be an experienced equality and diversity specialist who is able to operate credibly and successfully advising and influencing senior managers.

You will have excellent knowledge of equalities law and best practice in equalities, and the ability to apply this to design creative, pragmatic solutions.

Experience of working within a local government, NHS or public sector context is preferred but not essential.
