Senior Accountancy Officer (2 posts) – Ref: CG14217

£31,288 - £36,019 per annum

Do you have a passion and interest in a career providing financial support to a range of valued public services? If so, we have a number of opportunities to join the well respected finance team at Walsall Council.

We are looking for two Senior Accountancy Officers – one to support the Resources and Transformation directorate (specifically in support of the Council’s Support Services) and one in support of Children’s Services and Adult Social Care (as part of the council’s transformation programme).

We require enthusiastic individuals who enjoy interacting with others, have knowledge and experience of finance and the ability to communicate and present effectively to non-financial staff / customers at all levels.

We provide an attractive employment package that includes a generous annual leave entitlement of up to 32 days, a flexible working scheme that allows up to a further 12 days leave per year, and a career average pension scheme.

As a Senior Accountancy Officer you should ideally hold a CCAB / CIMA qualification and be undertaking active CPD. All posts require a thorough understanding of providing accountancy services within a large complex organisation, however in recognition of the knowledge that experience in other sectors can bring, whist an understanding of local government practice would be an advantage we would stress that it is not essential.

Previous applications received since January 2018 need not apply.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 8th April 2018
Interviews will be held week commencing 16th April 2018

For more information or an informal discussion please contact Stuart Wootton (01922 652348) regarding the post for Resources and Transformation, or Ross Hutchinson (01922 658411) regarding the post for Children’s Services / Adult Social Care.

Important note: as you progress through the online application form you will be asked to upload a supporting statement.  DO NOT UPLOAD YOUR CV.  You should upload a statement detailing how your aptitudes meet the specific criteria included in the employee specification.  CV’s will not be accepted.
