Wychavon District Council is a proactive successful local planning authority situated in accessible, attractive countryside within South Worcestershire. We are currently looking for a Chartered Town Planner to join our team of professionals and support the Development Manager in dealing with a wide variety of planning applications within our district.
We recently adopted a new development plan for the district and currently have a robust 5 year housing land supply.
We are looking for a motivated individual who is able to hit the ground running and to be confident managing a varied case load as part of a busy team.

Salary Range £18,746 - £33,437
Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and in accordance with our career grade structure.
To provide advice on planning matters, to process planning applications and related appeals and to assist in the management of development within the district.
We are ideally looking for someone who can hit the ground running and is confident managing a varied case load, although consideration may be given to candidates without prior experience who are possibly at the start of their planning careers.
A minimum entry level of experience at grade 5 is required for the role ie:
- A degree qualification in planning or similar related subject is required
- AND/OR experience of working in a planning environment
Key requirements are to provide advice on planning matters, to process planning applications and related appeals and to assist in the management of development.
Ideally, you will be an experienced planner, able to assist with a wide and varied caseload of planning issues and appeals. Alternatively you may just be embarking on a planning career. As the role is career graded we welcome applications between grades 5-9 on our career grade structure
